Once again, Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking nominations for outstanding citizens in the county borough, to be recognised in the annual Mayor's Citizenship Awards.
The awards are open to all citizens who live and work in the borough and have made a positive impact within the community. Groups and businesses that deserve recognition can also be nominated.
Councillor Jefferson Tildesley, Mayor of Bridgend County Borough Council, said: "All borough residents can be nominated for an award. I would particularly like to hear about any exceptional members of the community who have carried out an act of bravery or achieved excellence in sport, for instance.
"I would also encourage people to nominate those who carry out voluntary or charitable work in the area. The standard of nominations is always high and I look forward to receiving and reading them."
For full details of the award criteria and to obtain a nomination form, log on to www.bridgend.gov.uk or phone (01656) 643663.
The deadline for submission of nomination forms is Friday 4 December 2009 and successful nominees and nominators will be notified in the New Year. The awards ceremony will be held on Friday 26 February 2010.
